Desde Economía pronosticaron una semana de «grandes avances» en la negociación con el FMI
El viceministro de Economía, Gabriel Rubinstein, afirmó este lunes que «esta semana habrá grandes avances con el Fondo» Monetario Internacional (FMI), al salir de la reunión de gabinete económico que el ministro Sergio Massa encabezó en el Palacio de Hacienda. “Vamos a avanzar en todo lo que es la finalización del acuerdo. Y el ministro muy probablemente dará una conferencia cuando se concrete”, indicó Rubinstein a la prensa.
Por su parte, el secretario de Finanzas, Eduardo Setti, dijo que esta semana seguirán trabajando para llegar a un acuerdo con el FMI y aseguró que la precandidatura presidencial del ministro Sergio Massa es bien recibida en el mercado y en el organismo internacional.
“El viaje no lo tenemos definido. Se estuvo trabajando todo el fin de semana y fue muy importante, hay mucho optimismo”, afirmó el funcionario. Setti afirmó que “el Fondo ve con muy buenos ojos al ministro candidato”, y sostuvo que “si se cierra el acuerdo van a ir arreglándose distintas variables de la macroeconomía”.
En ese sentido, señaló que “esta semana será muy importante, se va a seguir trabajando con el Fondo Monetario y somos muy optimistas”.
“Esperamos cerrar un buen acuerdo con el Fondo Monetario que traiga alivio”, remarcó el funcionario, quien aseguró que tras la designación de Massa como precandidato a presidente, en el equipo económico están “tranquilos, enfocados en la gestión», a lo que agregó: «Creo que eso el mercado lo palpita muy bien”. En ese marco, dijo: «Por lo que he hablado el fin de semana con actores del mercado, están muy esperanzados”.
«Creemos que va a ser muy bueno el clima en la city porque el ministro como candidato es muy bien visto”, afirmó Setti, quien indicó que Massa “pidió que sigamos trabajando cada uno enfocados en su tarea, con la importancia de seguir adelante». «Estamos trabajando todos los días para ir mejorando las variables macroeconómicas”, completó.
Por su parte, el director general de Aduanas, Guillermo Michel, aseguró que «la ciudadanía percibe que hay estabilidad, orden y responsabilidad por parte del gabinete económico». Dijo que hubo un momento en que desde la gestión se empezó a «encaminar la estabilización de la economía» pero sostuvo que luego sobrevino «la sequía, que afectó ese desarrollo”. No obstante, indicó que «con la mitad del problema de la sequía, el gobierno anterior tomó irresponsablemente un préstamo de US$ 44.000 millones con el FMI”.
“Nosotros no vamos a endeudar a los argentinos ni a sus hijos. Vamos a trabajar de manera responsable con las divisas. Nuestro trabajo es estabilizar la economía y los estamos haciendo”, remarcó.
El equipo económico viene llevando adelante negociaciones de forma virtual con técnicos del Fondo para avanzar en la flexibilización de determinadas condiciones establecidas en el acuerdo cerrado hace un año, a partir del impacto que la sequía provocó en los ingresos de divisas para las arcas del Banco Central. «Argentina tiene un ancla que el Gobierno anterior dejó y condiciona el desarrollo», subrayó Massa días atrás, cuando precisó que con el Fondo se viene conversando «de las importaciones, la balanza comercial y el fortalecimiento de las reservas».
Los negociadores argentinos, Gabriel Rubinstein; el vicepresidente del Banco Central (BCRA), Lisandro Cleri; y el director del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos (Indec), Marco Lavagna, aguardan la venia del organismo financiero multilateral para viajar a Washington para encarar la «discusión de la última milla», en palabras del propio Massa.
Una vez que esto suceda, se espera que el titular del Palacio de Hacienda viaje también a la capital estadounidense para reunirse con la titular del FMI, Kristalina Georgieva, para rubricar el nuevo entendimiento. La reformulación del programa de Facilidades Extendidas de tres años y medio de duración, supone que habría un adelanto del saldo de los desembolsos acordados para lo que resta del año que superan los US$ 10.000 millones.
